Thanks to everyone who made it out to our 6th Annual Chart Champ event! Like so many things over the past 18 months, this year's event looked and felt different. An outdoor venue, pre-recorded demonstrations from the finalists, a fifty-something foot movie screen. The alluring smell of popcorn, fried dough, and...DeLorean fog machine?
The small talk came easily. Old friends, colleagues, and data viz fans from all over getting together, finally fist-bumping after who knows how many months apart. "How've you been?" and "how're the kids?" and "so wait, we can sit IN the DeLorean?"
Soon, it was time for the main event. Our five finalist prepared demonstration videos, each aiming to walk our attendees through their dashboards, explain functionality, and highlight creative and storytelling flourishes.
But, not before a hilarious introduction by our own Dustin Cabral. I hope you all enjoy this video as much as we did. It was a real treat getting to see all of this on the massive screen of the Mendon Twin Drive-In!

Congrats to Jacqui and all of our finalists, and a sincere thank you to everyone who came out and helped make this such a great night. We wanted to come up with a creative, fun, and safe way to get everyone together. The Tableau / dataviz community is simply one of the best out there, and we hope everyone had a great time.
We hope to see you all at TUG events, and of course next year for our 7th Annual Chart Champ!
